Officials outline simple steps like covering drains with towels and refilling plumbing traps afterward to prevent odors, noting the work will continue for several weeks and may shift with weather.
   

• Working Fire Erupts at Enfield Motel, Smoke Seen from Room (thelegaladvocate.com) — Firefighters rushed to a working fire Thursday evening at a two-story motel on King Street in Enfield, where smoke was seen coming from at least one room. Crews stretched hose lines and secured a hydrant at 1543 King Street, but officials have not yet released information on possible injuries or the cause.
