Woman Killed In Enfield Crash, ID Released: Police
The crash closed a portion of Route 190, and a detour was put in place, according to police.
ENFIELD, CT — A woman is dead following a serious crash that forced a road closure and detours in Enfield on Saturday, according to police.
Enfield police said the crash occurred shortly before 9:45 a.m. at the intersection of Route 190 and Middle Road West. According to police, the collision involved an SUV and a pedestrian.
The driver of the SUV, a 36-year-old man, was taken to the hospital for treatment of minor injuries.

The pedestrian, identified as 57-year-old Kimberly Knowles, was taken to Bayside Medical Center, where she was pronounced dead, police said.
Following the collision, police closed a portion of Route 190 to eastbound vehicles.

WFSB 3 TV reported that Knowles was near a crosswalk when she was struck and that the SUV continued until it crashed into The Jug Shop liquor store at 80 Hazard Ave.
Satish Panchal, who owns The Jug Shop, said the business incurred about $90,000 worth of damage to his liquor supply, WFSB 3 TV reports. (WFSB 3 TV shared video from the accident scene). The business is listed as temporarily closed on Google.
