ENFIELD, CT — Here are some recent notable accomplishments by local college students, as provided by readMedia Newswire. More great feats will be noted as they are received in the coming weeks.

Champlain College, Burlington VT

  • Jacob Davis, Ryan McCloud and Heidi Ranz,all of Enfield, were named to the Champlain College Dean's List for achieving a grade point average of 3.5 or higher in the fall 2023 semester.

  • Marcus Grant of Enfield, an honors English student, recently had work published in the fall 2023 issue of the scholarly journal "Metamorphosis." Grant is a senior majoring in English. Grant's 25-page research article, "Free in Body and Spirit: Spectral Liberation of Objectified Peoples in Victorian and Neo-Victorian Literature," is a deep dive into Victorian horror and the social hierarchies within this era. Grant conducted research in spiritualism, reports of ghost encounters and psychological theories on the supernatural that he related to Victorian literature.

Lawrence Technological University, Troy MI

  • Senior captain Connor Juhasz of Enfield earned Division 3 second-team All-America honors from the American Collegiate Hockey Association. Juhasz, who had a career year with scoring totals of 20 goals, 19 assists and 39 points in 36 games, helped lead top-seeded LTU to its first-ever ACHA Division 3 national championship after a 4-2 victory over No. 3 Grand Valley State in the title game. The Blue Devils went 4-0-1 during the tournament held in Maryland Heights, Mo., as part of a 29-5-2 overall record to set a program record for victories. For his career, Juhasz has 54+40=94 scoring totals. He was named to the Michigan Collegiate Hockey Conference East Division First Team after netting regular-season numbers of 17+13=30 to pace the team in goals and points. His previous top marks were 17 goals and 10 assists for 27 points during his 2022 sophomore campaign.
