Shoplifting Crackdown In Enfield Leads To 5 Arrests, Police Say
Officers worked with local retailers as part of a shoplifting crackdown, according to Enfield police.
ENFIELD, CT — Five people were taken into custody Monday during a retail theft enforcement operation in Enfield, police said.
The Enfield Police Department said it worked with the Connecticut State Police to conduct a planned operation on December 8th to address retail theft. Officers also partnered with local retailers to identify suspects who were shoplifting.
Five people were taken into custody as a result of the effort, Enfield police say.

Officers identified the suspects as:
Vanessa Fritz, 19, of East Longmeadow, MA

- Interfering with an officer
Abdul-Karriem Mahdee, 49, of Hartford
- Sixth-degree larceny
Nayeli Hernandez, 23, of Hartford
- Sixth-degree larceny
- Conspiracy to commit sixth-degree larceny
Nathalie Viera, 28, of Hartford
- Sixth-degree larceny
- Conspiracy to commit sixth-degree larceny
Krista Ambrose, 39, of Wilbraham, MA
- Sixth-degree larceny
Charges are accusations only, and all defendants are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
