Taking Care of Our Children: Enfield Heroes

ENFIELD, CT — When times are tough, heroes emerge. We all know someone who's making a difference right now as we live through unprecedented times. Here at Patch, we've launched an initiative to help recognize these everyday heroes.

This submission comes from Kelly Asfalg, who nominated the staff at Bright Beginnings Quality Childcare Center in Enfield.

Why do you believe the nominee should be recognized or honored?
All the employees currently working at Bright Beginnings wake up every morning and come to work ready to face whatever may come our way. They are tired but they still come to work with a smile and do their best. We are constantly cleaning to keep the center a safe and healthy place for those children who need to be here. We have parents that are essential workers and need to work. Us being open allows them to go to work every day and make a difference.

What’s one thing you want everyone to know about your hero?
We are all hidden heroes.
