  2. Art is a prolific bond in the tri-town community and the upcoming show at The Space Gallery in Chester is evidence of that. The exhibit opens on November 3 and runs through December 30. The “Light Shifts” exhibition features works by Gallery One artists and celebrates the change of season and upcoming holidays with visual good cheer. According to the press release about the show, "The Space Gallery located at 1 Main Street in Chester, will be holding an opening reception on November 4 from 5 to 8 p.m. Gallery hours are Thursday through Saturday, 12 to 5 p.m. and Sunday, 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. For more information, visit the Gallery One website at www.galleryonect.com" Hope to see you at the reception! 3. It's official the Westbrook Marquee Cinemas are closed! According to a zip06.com article, "Marquee Cinemas’ Chief Operating Officer James Cox, the theater’s lease expired on Sept. 30. Difficulties related to COVID-19 made continued operations difficult. “With the challenges our industry has faced over the last two and a half years from COVID, mandated closures, and reduced level of product due to streaming, we were unable to continue the operation beyond the current lease period,” said Cox. “We would just like to thank everyone in the area for their patronage over the past 20 years. Any patrons who have a gift card can email aevans@marqueecinemas.com to arrange to receive a refund,” Cox said. While the future of the Westbrook theater is currently unclear, Cox said the landlord was seeking a new theater operator. “I know the landlord is working hard to find a new operator and the location should reopen soon,” Cox added."(Zip06.com)
