- Valley Regional High School Safe Graduation Celebration Raffle Fundraiser is off and running. Please support the Class of 2023-SafeGrad event and purchase your raffle tickets for $20 each, from September 26-November 6. The drawing will be held at the Tri-Town Youth Services Bureau on November 7. Valley Safe Grad, in collaboration with Tri-Town Youth Services Bureau 501(c)(3) raises money throughout the year to ensure VRHS's seniors enjoy a safe, fun and memorable graduation celebration. The seniors look forward to having this last evening with their classmates, and the parents have peace of mind knowing their kids are safe. - The town of Deep River will be implementing a state-sponsored food scrap pilot program beginning next year. According to Zip06, "the [Board of Selectmen] BOS moved forward with the program off the strength of a $104,500 grant given to the Town by the Department of Energy and Environmental Protection (DEEP). The agency is determined to work with Connecticut municipalities and their residents on assuaging the financial and environmental impact arising from increasingly expensive and harmful waste practices. The program has already been pitched to 18 other municipalities in the state. (Zip06)
