  1. There is a new market in Chester. Have you checked it out yet? It's called Chester Hometown Market and it's located at 56 Middlesex Ave. Its Facebook post states, "We would like to thank the community for their support as we have just opened. We are open from 7am-9pm, seven days a week. Stop by for anything from a breakfast sandwich, fresh produce, or other household needs. We are so excited to be open and look forward to serving the residents on the shoreline well. Thank you!" (Chester Hometown Market via Facebook)
  2. Thinking ahead! Mark your calendar! According to Eventbrite, "the 2nd Annual CT Sea Music Festival will drop anchor in historic downtown Essex on June 9-12. The free weekend festivities include a Symposium on the Music of the Sea, daytime workshops, a parade, a family stage, demonstrations of sailor skills, a Sunday morning revival hymn sing, and late-night Chantey Sings in the historic Griswold Inn! Main stage evening concerts are ticketed events. Stroll Essex with ice cream in hand and hear sea chanteys and maritime music from all over the world. The festival is a project of the Maritime Music & Tradition Society Corp, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. (eventbrite.com)
  3. Coyote mating season is upon us. It lasts from January through March, which means there will be more coyote activity. Please keep your pets safe and don't let them outdoors without supervision. (Facebook Groups)
