  1. According to the CT Insider, " the Warriors’ trip through the 2022 season will arrive at its end point, on the turf at CCSU’s Arute Field, where they will meet Joel Barlow for the CIAC Class SS championship. Only one other VROL team has played for a state title, the 2014 Warriors, who beat Ansonia 21-20 in the final seconds in the Class S-Large division. “One more game as a family,” said two-way star playmaker Di’Angelo Jean-Pierre, whose uncle Chris scored the winning TD in that 2014 final. “We hope to finish strong.” Barlow presents a formidable challenge Saturday. Its triple-option attack revolving around senior quarterback Danny Shaban (1,873 all-purpose yards, 30 touchdowns) already has devoured two Pequot Conference teams in Granby/Canton and Cromwell/Portland. The latter couldn’t contain junior Cole Peterson, who rushed for 212 yards in a 40-35 semifinal win." Good luck Warriors! (CT Insider)
  2. Help animals today! According to a recent Town of Essex Facebook post,"The Connecticut State Police Troop F Community Trust Liaisons, Essex Resident Trooper’s Office, Tri-Town Animal Control Officers, along with the support of the Essex Park & Rec Department and the Valley Regional HS Baseball Team, are hosting a pet food and cat litter drive at the Essex Town Hall Auditorium, 29 West Avenue, today from 10am to 12pm, to help shelter pets this PAW-LIDAY season. Santa will be on site for pet photos! Animal shelters are in desperate need of kitten food and cat food (any brand), cat litter and Purina dog food (please, no Ole Roy or Beneful). All pet food donations must be new and unopened." Please donate if you can! Hope to see you there! (Town of Essex – Government via Facebook)
  3. "An Alzheimer Caregivers Support Group will be held on Thursday, December 15 at 5 p.m. at the Essex Library With Maria Tomesetti, South Central Regional Director for the Alzheimer’s Association Connecticut Chapter. Caring for a person with Alzheimer’s disease can be challenging. To help people who care for those with Alzheimer’s or another form of dementia, the Alzheimer’s Association Connecticut Chapter facilitates about 90 support groups around the state. People talk about their experiences and offer suggestions to deal with topics including medical, legal, behavioral and financial problems. The trained group facilitator is there to listen, help guide the conversation and to provide information about resources in the community. This support group is FREE and open to the public." Hope to see you there!(Essex Library via Facebook)
