- And so it begins! The long-awaited switchover from the "old numbers" to the new exit numbers on Route 9 is currently happening. Motorists take note, the Department of Transportation is switching over to the new numbering system which will begin with the old exit 1, changing to become exit 2. - Working hard to ensure the safety and security of the community's school children, this year the Region 4 Schools will be partnering with the Connecticut State Police and the Connecticut Department of Emergency Services & Public Protection (DESPP) Division of Emergency Management and Homeland Security (DEMHS) to undertake a comprehensive security audit of the schools and conduct site-based assessments of each of the schools in the Region. The scope of the project is to include all aspects of safety and security readiness planning. (Region 4 School District)
