Pilot Killed In Hang Glider Crash In Deep River

Connecticut State Police said the crash happened Friday in the area of Cedar Lake Road.

DEEP RIVER, CT — A Clinton man died Friday when the glider he was piloting crashed in the town of Deep River, authorities said.

According to Connecticut State Police, troopers responded to the area of Cedar Lake Road around 4:15 p.m. after receiving a call about a small glider that had crashed into the woods.

When troopers arrived, they found the single-engine Ultralight glider and its pilot, 70-year-old Bradley Daar. The pilot was taken to a local hospital, where he later died.

The Federal Aviation Administration, the National Transportation Safety Board and the Connecticut Airport Authority were notified of the incident. Connecticut State Police is investigating.
