  1. Get ready Seymour, because it has been announced that the Valley Regional Musical Productions (VRMP) will be producing "Little Shop of Horrors" for this year's musical! According to the Valley Regional High School newsletter, "one of the longest-running off-Broadway shows, "Little Shop Of Horrors," is a charmingly tongue-in-cheek comedy. Students can participate in cast, crew or pit. The musical is open to all students, grades 9-12. If interested, email director Ingrid Walsh at vrmp@reg4.k12.ct.us to be added to the "Musical 2023" Google Classroom for more details. There will be an info meeting on Monday, Oct. 3 at 2:30 in the VRHS auditorium. 2022-2023 VRMP Musical Production."
  2. According to Senator Norm Needleman's Facebook page, the Connecticut Realtors, representing 20,000 members, have endorsed him to be re-elected as state Senator. "I am proud to have received their endorsement in 2020 and again this election cycle because I understand the vital impact the real estate industry has on our local economy and all that Connecticut realtors do to support our local businesses and communities," said Needleman in a post. Needleman represents 12 towns in the 33rd district including Chester, Deep River and Essex, he is also the First Selectman of the Town of Essex. (Senator Norm Needleman via Facebook)
  3. No School on Monday! Not to worry. If you are looking for something fun and entertaining to do with your children, head on over to the Ivoryton Library has a drop-in craft event from 10:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. Kindness Rocks! Inspired by Megan Murphy's national movement idea that small messages of kindness have an incredible impact: "One message at just the right time can change your entire day."
