- Chester resident Susan Strecker is Tri-Town Youth Services recipient of the 2022 Generativity Award! According to a Facebook post on the Tri-Town Youth Services page, "the term “generativity” was coined by psychologist, Erik Erikson and it refers to a person’s growing sense of concern for—and commitment to guiding—the next generation. The board and staff at Tri-Town are proud to recognize Sue for six years of service to our Board of Directors, as well as for her phenomenal contributions to Safe Grad (2022), VRHS Parent Council and Valley Unified Buddies. - According to a press release issued by Wyeth Architects, printed in the Valley Courier, "Wyeth Architects LLC is honored to receive a Merit Award from The Connecticut Green Building Council for their work on the Legacy Theatre in Stony Creek, Branford. The award acknowledges excellence in design and construction practice that supports the broader goals of accelerating the equitable, healthy, resilient and sustainable transformation of the built environment in the state of Connecticut and beyond. The project team included Leonard Wyeth, Sara Holmes & David Petersen of Wyeth Architects, a LEED-accredited firm in Chester, Connecticut specializing in Passive House design. Located at 128 Thimble Island Road, the Legacy Theatre was built in 1886 as a non-denominational church for the residents and visitors to Stony Creek in Branford and has been used as a puppet museum, a home for Orson Welles’ theater troupe, a silent movie house and a parachute factory."
