2 Suspects Accused Of Crashing Stolen Vehicle In Fairfield: Police
The suspects are teenagers from Bridgeport, according to authorities.

FAIRFIELD, CT — A 19-year-old and a 17-year-old, both from Bridgeport, were arrested last week by Fairfield police after authorities said they crashed a stolen vehicle in town, Patch has learned.
The incident occurred on Jan. 6, after police had received "reports of multiple individuals checking vehicle door handles in the area of Moody Avenue and Lynnbrook Road," Fairfield Police Sgt. Jenna Wellington told Patch.
"An officer observed a vehicle operating without headlights and attempted to initiate a traffic stop by activating emergency lights," Wellington said in a statement. "When it became clear the vehicle was not stopping, the officer discontinued the attempt in accordance with Connecticut state statute, deactivated emergency equipment, and did not pursue the vehicle."

A short while later, police discovered that the vehicle had smashed into a utility pole, and the two occupants had fled on foot.
"Following a search of the area, officers took two suspects into custody without further incident," Wellington said. "Evidence consistent with vehicle break ins was recovered, and the investigation determined the vehicle involved had been taken without the owner’s permission."
