25-Year-Old Killed In Hit-And-Run Crash: Fairfield Police

FAIRFIELD, CT — A 25-year-old moped driver was killed in a hit-and-run crash Saturday night in Fairfield, according to authorities.

Officers responded around 9:30 p.m. to several 911 calls about the incident on Post Road near South Benson Road, police said, adding the striking vehicle fled, but the driver and vehicle were eventually located.

The victim, a man, later died at a local hospital, according to police.

“We would like to express our sincere condolences to the family of the victim during this difficult time,” Fairfield police said in a news release. “Our thoughts are with them as they grieve their loss. We would also like to thank the members of the community who promptly reported the crash and those who voluntarily provided video footage to assist in the investigation.”

Traffic in the area was closed for about three hours after the incident, according to police.
