Fairfield Man Killed In Wrong-Way Crash On Route 8 In Bridgeport: CSP
The crash occurred Sunday night, and the victim succumbed to his injuries on Tuesday, according to Connecticut State Police.

FAIRFIELD, CT — A 70-year-old Fairfield man, who was seriously injured in a wrong-way crash in Bridgeport on Sunday, has died, according to Connecticut State Police.
Robert O. Mancini, one of the drivers in the three-vehicle crash, succumbed to his injuries on Tuesday at St. Vincent's Medical Center, where he was being treated. State police said the drivers of the other two vehicles sustained minor injuries.
The crash occurred at about 8:20 p.m. southbound on Route 8 near exit 4, state police said in a release.

Mancini was driving a 2001 Kia Sephia northbound in the southbound lanes when he crashed head-on into a 2019 Toyota Corolla, driven by a 27-year-old Bridgeport man. A third vehicle, a 2023 Kia EV6 driven by a 27-year-old Bridgeport woman, was unable to stop in time and rear ended the Corolla, according to state police.
