Fairfield Town Plan & Zoning Commission To Hold Public Planning Sessions
The sessions will be held virtually via Zoom.

FAIRFIELD, CT — As it looks to continue updating the town's Zoning Regulations, the Fairfield Town Plan and Zoning Commission will begin holding monthly planning sessions in addition to its regular meetings.
The first planning meeting is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, and will be open to the public and streamed via Zoom. Going forward, all the meetings will be public, and will be held on the first Tuesday of the month.
Last year, Fairfield hired a consultant to reformat and update the Zoning Regulations, which became effective in September, according to Planning Director Emmeline Harrigan.

"Now that the document is better organized and the [Plan of Conservation and Development] has been adopted, the TPZ Commission has scheduled an extra meeting a month to focus on Zoning Regulation amendments," Harrigan said in an email to Patch. "Some of these are based on staff requests to better define standards and requirements, some of these are to improve processes, and some will be based on direct recommendations from the POCD itself."
The commission voted in December to hold the extra monthly planning meeting, in part because development in town has been so busy over the past few years.

"The project review agendas have not allowed a lot of time for that work," Harrigan said about amendments.
