New Early Childhood Education Center Opens In Fairfield

It serves children from toddler age through kindergarten.

FAIRFIELD, CT — The Nest at Greenfield Hill, an early childhood education center at 161 Hillside Road in Fairfield, recently opened to serve children from toddler age through kindergarten, generally ages 1 to 6.

The center follows an approach influenced by the Reggio Emilia philosophy and the Resources for Infant Educarers (RIE) model, which emphasize respect for children, child-led learning, and developmentally appropriate environments.

According to the center, classrooms are designed to be calm and intentional, with teachers encouraging children to make choices, communicate openly, and explore at their own pace. The curriculum is play-based and shaped by children’s interests, with a focus on developing problem-solving abilities, self-regulation, early literacy and math concepts, executive function, and social-emotional skills. Daily activities include the use of open-ended materials, group discussions, and time spent outdoors.
