Here are five things to know about Fairfield for Thursday, July 4:

3. Fireworks. Fireworks will be launched from a barge in Long Island Sound off the coast of Penfield and Jennings beaches in Fairfield at around 9:15 p.m. Thursday. For more information, click here.
4. Red, White & Blue scavenger hunt. Spend the morning or afternoon hunting down red, white, and blue animals at the Beardsley Zoo. Details here.
5. Live music before the fireworks. The Atwood Express Oldies Band will play at Jennings Beach from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.
