FAIRFIELD, CT — A GoFundMe campaign has been launched to honor the memory of former Fairfield Woods Middle School teacher Jennifer Duguid Savader, 51, who passed away on April 2 of pancreatic cancer.

Savader was diagnosed with the disease in February and died less than two months later, leaving behind her husband of 20 years, Jason, and their three sons, Owen, Emmett, and Phinn.

"Jen and her family have been an integral part of the Fairfield community," wrote Sara Hoefer, who organized the GoFundMe effort. "Jen was almost a 'celebrity' in town, having taught thousands of middle school students through the years and having worked with her boys' scout troops, sports teams and music ensembles.
