ID Released Of Fairfield Man Struck And Killed By Metro-North Train: MTA
The crash occurred Monday afternoon, according to authorities.

FAIRFIELD, CT — A 22-year-old Fairfield man was killed Monday when he was struck by an eastbound Metro-North train in Southport, the Metropolitan Transportation Authority announced.
James Kim was pronounced dead at the scene of the 2:30 p.m. crash. His next of kin have been notified.
According to an MTA spokesperson, "Metro-North Train 1530 scheduled service from Grand Central Terminal to New Haven, was traveling west of the Fairfield Station when it struck" Kim, who was not authorized to be on the train tracks.

"Preliminary investigation, which included video review, reveals no other individuals were involved, and no criminality is suspected," the spokesperson said in a statement. "There were no injuries to passengers or crew on the incident train."
Approximately 130 passengers on the train at the time were transferred to another eastbound train to complete their journey.

Train service in the area was temporarily delayed on Monday, but there was no residual impact to service, according to the spokesperson.
The investigation into the collision is ongoing.
