Infrastructure Survey Launched In Fairfield

Just how good — or bad — are Fairfield's roadways?

FAIRFIELD, CT — Fairfield has launched an online survey to gather input on the town's roadways.

"We are interested in learning about your experience on Fairfield streets and how you get around town," the survey reads. "All questions about your sense of safety are concerned specifically with our roads and street traffic. This survey is NOT focused on other factors, such as crime, which may also affect your sense of street safety."

The survey, in which responses are anonymous, has 19 questions and takes about five minutes to complete. It will remain open through May 30.

First Selectman Bill Gerber, who has pledged to improve road safety in Fairfield, said safer streets is an important quality of life issue.

"One of my administration's primary goals is keeping our roadways safe for all of our residents, whether you're driving, biking, walking, or scootering," Gerber said in a statement. "This year, we signed the Vision Zero Pledge, with the goal to end all traffic fatalities by 2034. That's an ambitious goal, but an achievable and meaningful one. Safe streets are integral to our quality of life."
