Peter Atkin, 34, of Norwalk, was charged with second-degree criminal mischief and disorderly conduct on September 8 at approximately 2:15 a.m.  According to police, Atkin entered into a physical fight with a woman at a residence on Sterling Street in Fairfield where he restrained her and struck her in the face. Atkin also damaged a door and threw a set of knives against a wall, breaking two windows. Atkin was released on a written promise to appear with a court date on September 9.
