Teen Volunteers Needed at Fairfield Library

The library is requesting a minimum time commitment of 2 hours per week from June 19 through August 12.

From the Fairfield Library: Do you enjoy working with young children? Do you like spending time at the Library? Apply to be a summer volunteer at the Main or Fairfield Woods Branch Library! We need teens to help children sign up for the online summer reading game, hand out prizes, show movies, help at story times and special events, and more. We request a minimum time commitment of 2 hours per week, June 19-August 12.

Each volunteer will choose their own schedule from available hours each week, Monday through Friday, 10:00 am to 5:00 pm, and occasional evenings until 9:00 pm when there is a special event. Interested volunteers must complete an application, and, if selected, attend a mandatory one-hour training session in June, dates to be announced.
This volunteer opportunity is open to students entering grade 8 and up in September, 2017. Apply online at bit.ly/FPLVolunteer. Questions? Contact Judy Sparzo, Fairfield Woods Branch Children’s Librarian at 203-255-7327 or jsparzo@fplct.org.

Last summer over 70 teens volunteered in Children’s Services. They were great mentors to younger patrons and made summer reading that much more special.
