Three Connecticut women were arrested and charged with prostitution on Wednesday as the result of an investigation by the Fairfield Police Detective Bureau into Deidra's Health Salon at 699 Post Road, according to a release sent by the department.
The investigation, which was initiated in 2011, revealed that the business, which has been open since the 1970s, has been offering illegal sexual services to clients, according to police. Undercover officers posing as customers seeking massages were sent into Deidra's on numerous occasions, police said, and each visit confirmed that the illegal sexual activity was taking place at the salon. The department also received numerous anonymous tips that prostitution was taking place at the salon, according to police.
The Detective Bureau executed search and seizure warrants at the salon on Feb. 7 and at the residence of one of the co-owners, who lives in Bridgeport. Officers were able to seize business records, $16,000 in cash and equipment used at the salon as result of the two raids, according to police.
The department obtained five arrest warrants in all—three for employees of the salon and two for the co-owners. According to Lt. Michael Gagner, warrants are expected to be issued to the co-owners on Friday.
The employees arrested and charged on Wednesday are Kimberly Arciuolo, 34, of John St, New Haven, Sacha Burton, 32, of Hawley Ave., Bridgeport, and Susan M. Cecere, 56, of Bruce Street, Shelton.
According to police, one of the co-owners of Deidra's had business ties to the former Paradise Spa in Fairfield and Tokyo Health Spa in Bridgeport—both of which were shut down for numerous violations.
