Party Affiliation: Republican

Occupation: Small business owner, 15 years as the owner and operator of Mondo in Middletown, CT

Family: I have been married to my wife, Nicole, since 2012; she is also a lifelong resident of Farmington. We have two sons, Jake and Jordy, ages 8 and 6, and our daughter Emme, who is 3. All of our kids are enrolled in Farmington Public Schools.

Does anyone in your family work in politics or government? No

Previous public office, appointive or elective:

Yes, I have served on the Farmington Town Council since 2022, and before that, I was a member of the Farmington Town Plan and Zoning Commission from 2019 to 2021.

Why are you seeking this office?

I am running for Town Council because I love Unionville and Farmington, and I believe that it is important for members of our community to take active roles in our town’s future.

I have appreciated the opportunity to participate in our local government these past six years.

If re-elected, I will continue to put the residents of our town first in every decision I am a part of. I am a fifth-generation resident with deep roots in town.

I value our town's history, and while I recognize that change is inevitable, I will always work to make sure any changes are smart, necessary, and fit the character of our town.

I appreciate how special Farmington and Unionville are, and I am eager to continue serving and contributing to our town’s success.

The single most pressing issue facing my constituents is ____, and this is what I intend to do about it: This was my answer when I ran in 2021 and 2023 and it will continue to be my answer as long as I serve on the Town Council.

I believe the biggest issue the Town Council is tasked with by residents of Farmington and Unionville is that we continue to offer excellent town services and a first-class education to our children while maintaining a tax rate that is among the lowest in central Connecticut.

Accomplishing that requires strong leadership, budgetary discipline, and a clear vision for what we want Farmington’s future to be.

The Town Council makes a lot of important decisions that have an immediate impact on the town, but they cannot be made independent of having a plan for our future.

For years, Republican leadership has provided our town with a path to success. I hope to further that legacy and continue my service on the Town Council.

What are the major differences between you and the other candidates seeking this post?

These are volunteer roles, and I believe that every candidate is committed to seeing Farmington succeed.

My strengths are that I understand the demands of the job, attend meetings, stay informed on key issues, form accountable opinions, dedicate time outside regular hours, and am willing to work with a variety of opinions to find solutions that are best for the town.

Beyond that, I have a demonstrated history of successfully managing a business and an understanding of the importance of budgetary discipline.

I want to see every tax dollar go as far as it possibly can, keeping in mind that we need to keep our standards for our schools and town services high.

What other issues do you intend to address during your campaign?

Given that the Town Council is the financial board for the town, it all starts with having a smart and responsible budget.

Beyond that, I currently serve on the ad hoc sidewalk committee, where we are working on updates to ordinances as well as informing the community about our rules and regulations surrounding sidewalks in town.

There is also an ad hoc committee exploring the future of our firehouses. I am interested to see what their findings are.

I also look forward to seeing the completion of the renovated 1928 building.

What accomplishments in your past would you cite as evidence that you can handle this job?

For 15 years, I've owned and operated a successful small business in Middletown, CT. Management of my business has required market adaptation, customer relationship-building, financial discipline, and hands-on problem-solving.

In local government, I've served for the past four years on the Town Council, including work on the Retirement Board, Green Efforts Committee, Housing Authority, and as liaison to Town Planning & Zoning and the Library Board.

I have contributed to the last four town budgets, notably holding spending to a 0% year-over-year increase during a property revaluation year.

Prior to Town Council, I served on Town Planning & Zoning from 2019–2021.

As a lifelong resident, I grew up in Unionville. My first job was at the Old Town Tavern (now Dunkin'). My father was raised on Farmington Avenue, my mother on Webster Street. I have firsthand knowledge of what makes Farmington and Unionville thrive, and as a father of thre,e I am invested in our future.

What is the best advice anyone ever gave you?

I've gotten (and needed) a lot of great advice in my life. I think the most relevant advice I have gotten recently came from listening to the Audiobook, Benjamin Franklin: An American Life.

Franklin says, "Don't leave for tomorrow what you can do today." I think that encapsulates our responsibility on the Town Council perfectly.

Is there anything else you would like voters to know about yourself and your positions?

I have said this before, but it is always worth repeating: Farmington has given me a lot for which I am thankful. I was born and raised here, I met my wife here, and I am raising my family here. Farmington and Unionville have given me so much, and it has been an honor to give back by volunteering on the Town Council.

I hope to be able to continue that work. Please support me and my friends on Row B this Election Day, Nov. 4.
