What office are you seeking? Town Council, 1st District

What town do you live in? Farmington

Party affiliation: Republican

Occupation: Vice president, agile delivery

Family: Spouse is Robert Canto, and we have two daughters, Ashley (24) and Julia (21).

Does anyone in your family work in politics or government? Robert Canto is an elected member of the town planning and zoning commission.

Previous public office, appointive or elective: Member of Board of Education (2022–25)

Why are you seeking this office?

A lifelong Farmington resident, I want to continue serving our community.

With my experience on the Board of Education and in local volunteer work, I am focused on maintaining strong schools, promoting fiscally responsible budgeting, and keeping taxes low to preserve Farmington’s quality of life for current and future generations.

The single most pressing issue facing my constituents is ____, and this is what I intend to do about it: The most pressing issue for my constituents is keeping taxes affordable.

I will advocate for balanced policies that maintain low taxes while supporting strong schools and quality services.

What are the major differences between you and the other candidates seeking this post?

What sets me apart is my deep, multigenerational roots in Farmington and my proven leadership experience — both on the Board of Education and in my professional career managing large-scale technology projects, budgets, and teams.

I’ve also been actively involved in local schools, giving me a strong connection to the community and its needs.

What other issues do you intend to address during your campaign?

I intend to prioritize maintaining open lines of communication with the community to keep everyone informed and involved in planned investments.

What accomplishments in your past would you cite as evidence that you can handle this job?

I bring four years of bipartisan service on the Board of Education, where I worked collaboratively to shape policy, budgets, and negotiations with families at the center of every decision.

What is the best advice anyone ever gave you? Be kind and stay humble.

Is there anything else you would like voters to know about yourself and your positions?

Serving on the Board of Education has deepened my appreciation for our district’s leadership, teachers, and administrators.

Collaborating with a diverse group of committee members to support quality education for all students has strengthened my commitment to Farmington’s future, and I look forward to continuing to serve our community as a member of the Town Council.
