62-Unit Housing Complex Pitched in Farmington: Report

No formal application yet, but part of complex would house clients of Canton-based nonprofit helping intellectually disabled people.

FARMINGTON, CT — A developer has unveiled plans for a large, mixed-unit housing development in town at 80 South Road.

The item was considered "informal discussion" at Monday's Farmington Planning and Zoning Commission meeting, meaning no formal hearing has been set and no action was taken.

According to the Hartford Business Journal, developer Geoffrey Sager is pitching the project, which would be near the UConn Health Center.

Officials with Sager Development were at Monday's PZC meeting, but indicated a formal application would not happen until October, the Business Journal reported.

According to the HBJ, the project would entail a total of 62 units, with some of the units leased to a Canton organization called "Favarh," which helps people with intellectual and developmental disabilities live independently.
