The Farmington Police Department on Saturday, April 26, is collecting unwanted/expired medications as part of National Drug Takeback Day.

FARMINGTON, CT — Local police will be available Saturday to take back, no questions asked, any unused, unwanted, or expired drugs as part of a national effort.

The Farmington Police Department, located at 319 New Britain Ave., Unionville, will be collecting those medications from the public on Saturday, April 26.

The initiative is part of National Drug Takeback Day, a national effort to rid the environment of expired/unwanted medications, which can prove dangerous to both people and the environment.

Farmington police will be collecting those medications from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Once deposited with the police, the FPD will properly dispose of them.
