Farmington Braces For Snowstorm, What You Need To Know
Several inches of snow are expected to fall Friday night into Saturday morning.

FARMINGTON, CT — A snowstorm is expected to impact Farmington beginning after 5 p.m. this evening, with the heaviest snowfall anticipated overnight, town officials said.
Farmington’s Highway & Grounds Department, in coordination with the Connecticut Department of Transportation, will be actively treating and clearing roads as conditions require.

Meanwhile, the town has announced a parking ban starting at 6 p.m. Friday and continuing through 1 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 27.
As people head into the weekend, the town urged residents to keep the following travel safety reminders in mind:

• Reduce speed and allow for extra braking distance.
• Clear all snow and ice from your vehicle, including the roof, before driving.
• Stay alert for plow trucks and give them plenty of space to operate.
• Use headlights during all snow, sleet, or freezing rain.
The town uses Everbridge to share emergency notifications, including parking bans, road closures, and other public safety alerts.
"If you haven’t already, we encourage you to sign up for Everbridge to receive timely texts, calls, or emails when important weather-related information is issued," wrote the Town of Farmington on Friday.
