Early Morning Fire Destroys Farmington Home

Just after 3 a.m. Sunday, firefighters responded to a house fire on ​New Britain Avenue.

FARMINGTON, CT — An early morning fire over the weekend destroyed a home in Farmington, according to Tunxis Hose Company No. 1.

Just after 3 a.m. Sunday, firefighters responded to a house fire on New Britain Avenue.

All town departments responded with mutual aid from Plainville as well as from Avon and Burlington.

Crews cleared the scene by 7 a.m. However, they returned to the fire-damaged house a few hours later to put out some hot spots, Tunxis Hose Company No. 1 said.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
