Farmington Announces Holiday Weekend Impacts
Monday, Oct. 13, is the Columbus Day Holiday, a day also celebrated as Indigenous Peoples Day and Italian American Heritage Day.

FARMINGTON, CT — Local officials this week have announced the community impacts associated with the upcoming Columbus Day holiday.
Farmington officials this week said town offices, including Farmington Town Hall and Farmington's libraries, will be closed Monday, Oct. 13, in observance of Columbus Day and Indigenous Peoples Day.
Regular hours of operation will resume on Tuesday, Oct. 14, at 8:30 a.m.

For Farmington residents who have trash and recycling collection by the town's contractor (Waste Material Trucking Co.), there will be no change in the regular collection day.
Meanwhile, Farmington Public Schools are also closed Monday, Oct. 13, for Indigenous Peoples Day/Italian American Heritage Day, another substitute holiday for Columbus Day.
