Farmington Announces New Year's Openings/Closings
New Year's Day is on Thursday, Jan. 1, with several town services impacted.
FARMINGTON, CT — Local officials this week announced the impacts in Farmington associated with the New Year's Day holiday.
Town offices will be closed Thursday, Jan. 1, in observance of New Year's Day, and regular hours of operation will resume Friday, Jan. 2, at 8:30 a.m.
For residents who have trash and recycling collection by the town's contractor (Waste Material Trucking Co.), there will be a one-day delay, starting with the holiday (Thursday, Jan. 1).

If one's collection normally falls on Thursday, it will be picked up on Friday, and Friday's collection will be picked up on Saturday.
Meanwhile, Farmington's libraries (Main and Barney) will close early at 5 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 31, and remain closed on New Year's Day and Thursday, July 1.
