Farmington FD Training To Close Road, But Spectators Are Welcome

The Tunxis Hose Fire Co. is hosting a day-long, live training exercise this weekend, with a public viewing area set up as well.

FARMINGTON, CT — Local firefighters will conduct a live training exercise this Sunday, which will result in closed roadways, but also provide an opportunity for folks to see them in action.

According to the Tunxis Hose Co. No. 1, firefighters will have a live-training exercise on West District Road in Farmington from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

As a result, West District Road will be closed between Red Coat Road and Whispering Rod Road during the training.

"Please use caution in the area and plan alternate routes," wrote the fire department.

But if folks are curious to see how their local volunteer firefighters battle fires, they can watch.

That's because the fire department has set up designated public viewing areas so those interested can watch firefighters practice their jobs.
