Farmington Grad Sawicki Musically Directs National 'Evita' Tour and Other News!

Happy Thursday, Farmington!

Great news from Leslie Imse, choral director at Farmington High School. Graduate David Sawicki is the associate music director and conductor for the First National Tour of the Broadway Revival of Evita

Sawicki was a freshman at Farmington High School when I was a senior and was very involved in the high school's music program as a clarinet player, pianist and singer. At Farmington, he played in the Wind Ensemble and jazz band/combo and was a member of the Chamber Singers and the esteemed Madrigal Singers. He continued studying music at Harvard.
Now Sawicki has co-founded Opera Brittenica, a new Boston musical organization "devoted to exploring and performing the varied works of Benjamin Britten," according to an community board Imse posted on Patch.
Congratulations, David!
