FARMINGTON, CT — The local historical society recently was awarded much-needed funding to restore part of the organization's new headquarters.

The Farmington Greater Together Community Fund last week awarded $3,500 to the Farmington Historical Society to restore a greenhouse at its new 729 Farmington Ave. site.

In 2024, the historical society acquired the home at that address to become the organization's new headquarters.

Funding from the fund, managed by the Hartford Foundation for Public Giving, will go toward restoring a greenhouse on site.

"The first step in the project is the restoration of the greenhouse and the second step is to develop programs for the public," wrote the Farmington Historical Society on Dec. 18.
