Farmington High School sophomore Margaux Zimmerman moved to the United States from France six years ago.
On Tuesday, the Strasbourg, France native had the chance to share her culture with her peers through food at the school's World Language Showcase.
"I just thinks it's pretty cool to get people taste the type of food I have to offer," Zimmerman said. "It's fun to share your culture through the food."
One of the dishes she and Ana-Livy Dobrita made was Gratin de pomme de terre.
Guitarist and singer Brooke Tomlinson wrote a song in French called "Juste le Debut" as part of her presentation on French music.
French and Spanish students cooked ethnic dishes did projects and presentations on topics of their choice for the fair.
Beth Park an Kami Drezek researched Spanish festival Fallas in Valencia.
"They have huge creations of paper mâché and basically they burn it down to celebrate San Jose and Virgin Mary," Park said.
Park said San Jose was a carpenter and used to burn his leftover wood to celebrate spring.
She invited students to make paper flowers at her project booth to represent the Ofrende de Flores, or offering of flowers to the Virgin Mary.
Junior Kate Fagan made arroz con leche, a rice pudding dish.
"Doing this was a first hand experience with the Spanish culture," she said.
