Farmington To Honor All Veterans At Monday Ceremony

The Town of Farmington's event will take place at Farmington Town Hall, 1 Monteith Drive. at 11 a.m. Monday, Nov. 11.

FARMINGTON, CT — The public is being invited to the town's annual Veterans Day ceremony on Monday, where all veterans will be honored.

The Town of Farmington's event will take place at Farmington Town Hall, 1 Monteith Drive. at 11 a.m. Monday, Nov. 11.

The "short" event will take place in front of the Veterans Memorial Monument.

Veterans Day started as "Armistice Day" on Nov. 11, 1919, to commemorate the end of World War I a year prior.

It has evolved into Veterans Day honoring all military veterans and Nov. 11 became a national holiday in 1938.
