Farmington Library Seeks Halloween Costume Donations
The library's children's department early next month is hosting a special Halloween costume swap where anyone can get a costume.

FARMINGTON, CT — Farmington families looking for some creative and economic ways to dress their children for Halloween might want to check out the local library this year.
That's because the Farmington Library Children's Department is hosting a Halloween Costume Swap.

For now, the library is collecting donations of prior years' costumes from residents.
Folks can drop off new or gently used Halloween costumes for children, teens, and adults to the children’s department at the main library, 6 Monteith Drive, through Tuesday, Oct. 1.

Then they can visit the library on Saturday, Oct. 5, from 10 a.m. to noon.
There, guests can browse and select a new-to-you costume, just in time for Halloween.
No donation is needed to select a costume. This is a first-come, first-served event.
The library offered the following tips and rules regarding the costume swap:
• Costumes range between infant and adult sizes.
• Costume accessories (ex. crowns, masks, props) are desired as well.
• Costumes and accessories must be clean and in good shape with no rips, stains, or other damage
• The library will not accept Halloween makeup, fake blood, or face paint for sanitary reasons.
• The library has the final say on if a costume will be presented on swap day
No donations will be taken on swap day and people are asked to not leave costumes outside or in the book drop.
Donations will only be taken at the Farmington Library Children’s Department, 6 Monteith Drive.
