“Mott’s business fits the IDEX sweet spot of highly engineered, configurable mission-critical components focused on scalable select applications. The addition of Mott represents an important step in our evolution, as we continue building our differentiated capabilities in applied materials technologies,” said Eric D. Ashleman, chief executive officer and president of IDEX.
Idex said Mott will be folded into the company's health and science component.
Mott officials said they are ready to operate under the Idex umbrella.
“We’re excited to join an industry leader with a strong record of helping customers solve their toughest problems. Mott brings applied material science, chemistry, and application expertise, an additive and complementary customer base, and a growing pipeline of opportunities," said Mott President and Chief Executive Officer Boris Levin Tuesday in a statement.
"When combined with the scale of IDEX, industry-leading positions, and deep technological know-how, this will yield meaningful synergies and benefits. Our culture and capabilities align with IDEX, and our employees will add tremendous value to the company, just as they’ve driven Mott’s growth for generations.”
Mott was last in the news regarding a massive, 65,000-square-foot expansion allowing the firm to manufacture a green form of hydrogen fuel that is environmentally beneficial.
The project is still ongoing, with Mott officials being joined by state and local dignitaries in April 2023 for the expansion announcement.
It will allow Mott. Corp. to hire 100 additional workers on top of the already 500 plus employees there.
In January 2023, the Farmington Planning and Zoning Commission approved rezoning some land to help with the project.
