The Connecticut Department of Transportation has announced a nighttime milling and resurfacing project that will be performed in Canton, Farmington, and Avon.The project consists of milling and resurfacing a 4.7 mile segment of Route 177 in the three towns. This project started on Thursday and will run until the morning of Thursday, Aug. 6.<a href="https://link.patch.com/join/3-0-subscribe?list=US_CT_FARMINGTON_939">To sign up for Farmington breaking news alerts and more, click here.</a>Motorists can expect lane closures on Route 177 between Route 4 and Route 44. Traffic control personnel and signing patterns will be utilized to guide motorists through the work zone.The regular work schedule for this project is 8 p.m.until 5 a.m., Sunday through Thursday.Motorists should be aware that modifications or extensions to this schedule may become necessary due to weather delays or other unforeseen conditions. Motorists are advised to maintain a safe speed when driving in this vicinity.
