Farmington Will Get $40M For New High School From State: Report
Lawmakers passed a bill that will reimburse the town for 30 percent of the school's construction costs, the Hartford Courant reported.
FARMINGTON, CT — Farmington is on track to receive $40 million from the state of Connecticut for construction of its new high school, the Hartford Courant reported.
A reimbursement rate of 19 percent was initially promised to the town, the Courant said, but that funding was called into question after a federal investigation began into Kosta Diamantis, a former state official who had provided the town with a reimbursement number, according to NBC Connecticut.
But earlier this month, state lawmakers passed a budget implementer bill that gave Farmington even more money than town officials were expecting.
