Free Seeds For Gardens Available At Farmington Library
The town's 'seed library' opened over the weekend and it will be giving out seeds through September, while supplies last.

FARMINGTON, CT — Winter is slowly but surely coming to an end and, with spring on the way later this month, the Farmington Public Library has something green thumbs will need: seeds.
Library officials announced over the weekend that the so-called "seed library" is up and running and local gardeners can stop by and get some.

The Seed Library is a collection of seeds donated by seed companies that people can "borrow" and plant at home.
But these are not books, according to library officials.

"There are no late fees or due dates and you don’t need to donate seeds in order to borrow seeds," writes the library on is website.
The seeds are available at the library system's Barney Library, 71 Main St., from March to September while supplies last.
"We hope you stop in to check out vegetable, flower, and herb seeds from our seed library," writes the library.
