Want To Adopt Happy Dog In Farmington? Here's How

Farmington animal control says the smiling canine is good with kids, families and other dogs.

FARMINGTON, CT — A pleasant pooch found roaming in Farmington in the area of the Westfarms Mall is now up for adoption, the town's animal control department reported this week.

According to the Farmington Police Department, which oversees animal control, the happy-looking pit bull type canine was found Dec. 17 outside the mall, which straddles the Farmington/West Hartford town line.

Since then, the dog has been in the custody of Farmington animal control and a sufficient amount of time has lapsed without anybody claiming him for him to be adopted out.

In announcing this dog's availability, Farmington police employed a holiday theme.

"Happy Holidays from the pound! This adorable elf is still with us and he will be available for adoption in the next few days," wrote the department via Facebook on Tuesday, Dec. 27.

According to the town, the dog is about 1-2 years old and is friendly with adults, children and, even, other dogs.
