Holiday Closures Announced For Farmington Offices, Schools

Christmas is Wednesday, Dec. 25, and New Year's Day is Wednesday, Jan. 1, 2025, with several town and school impacts announced.

FARMINGTON, CT — The upcoming holiday season has local towns and schools in holiday mode for the upcoming Christmas and New Year's holidays.

And with both New Year's Day and Christmas falling on a Wednesday this year, the following impacts should be noted in Farmington.

Farmington Town Hall on Monteith Drive is closed on Wednesday, Dec. 25.

For residents who have trash and recycling collection by the town's contractor (Waste Material Trucking Co.), there will be a one-day delay, starting with the holiday (Wednesday, Dec. 25).

If waste collection normally falls on Wednesday, it will be picked up on Thursday; Thursday's collection will be picked up on Friday; Friday's collection will be picked up on Saturday.

New Year's Day

The Farmington school system's winter break lasts from Dec. 23-Jan. 1, 2025. Classes resume as normal on Thursday, Jan. 2, 2025.
