Laxton likes the cooler temperatures and loves to play catch and tug-of-war outside after the sun goes down.
According to the town, Chanosky adopted Laxton six years ago, and he "has been loving his forever home ever since."
The "Top Dog" contest is part of the dog license push in June, and the "Top Dog" drawing was held on June 19.
To participate, contestants had to send in a photo of their dog to the town clerk's office, along with the dog's name, owner's name, address, and a phone number.
