Memorial Day In Farmington: Parade Monday To Honor Fallen Heroes
Memorial Day is a solemn mix of remembering U.S. soldiers killed in the line of duty and enjoying the unofficial start of the summer season.
FARMINGTON, CT — The unofficial start of summer kicks off in Farmington this weekend with a mix of seasonal fun and solemn remembrances of Memorial Day Weekend's true meaning.
All town offices and schools are closed for the day on Monday, May 26, with Farmington hosting its annual Memorial Day Parade that day.
Farmington's Memorial Day Parade steps off at 10 a.m. from the corner of New Britain Avenue and Route 177.

It concludes with a ceremony at the Alice Clover Pinney Memorial Park, 173 School St.
There, attendees will gather to "honor and remember those who have made the ultimate sacrifice in service to our country," wrote the town.

"All are welcome to attend and show their support for our nation’s heroes," wrote town officials in an announcement.
Veterans of all backgrounds are encouraged to participate in the parade.
