Police Surround Home In Farmington, One Taken To Hospital: FPD
Farmington police said someone inside the home was experiencing an 'emotional crisis.'

FARMINGTON, CT — A person experiencing a mental health emergency on Wednesday morning was taken to the hospital after police briefly surrounded a home on Sunset Drive.
According to the Farmington Police Department, police were called to a home on Sunset Drive following a report of a person experiencing an "emotional crisis" who had made suicidal comments.
"Upon arrival, officers could hear someone yelling from inside the home," wrote the FPD early Wednesday afternoon.

"As a precaution, a perimeter was established around the residence to ensure the safety of the individual and the surrounding community."
After what police termed "a brief period," the individual voluntarily exited the residence without incident.

"They were then transported by emergency personnel to a local hospital to receive appropriate medical care and support," wrote FPD Lt. Kyle A. Noddin in a release.
