Spring Ahead 5K Road Race on for April 23

The family-friendly Fun Run and 5K is hosted by East Farms Elementary School PTO. The event begins at 12:15 PM

From Sirica Marketing, PR: Lace up those running shoes! The 4th Annual East Farms Spring Ahead 5K & Fun Run will be held at East Farms School in Farmington on Sunday, April 23rd. Last year’s race attracted more than 550 runners, and their families, from statewide and beyond. Registration is currently open at $20 a runner with an early registrant discount before April 7th. The event features electronic timing by Timing Plus New England, an awards ceremony featuring prizes for each age group and a family friendly atmosphere. After the race, enjoy healthy snacks, music and dancing.

Through participation and fundraising in the community, the East Farms PTO is proud to support our future leaders’ education. With this event, the PTO hopes to inspire children and adults to develop and maintain healthy bodies and minds – and have a great time doing it. The race mission is to challenge family members and coworkers to build a running team and participate. Parents in the community are encouraged to inspire our youth to get up and get moving in the 5K, Fun Run or 1 Mile Fitness Walk as a family and spring ahead into the new season.

The event begins on April 23rd at 12:15 PM with a half-mile and a one-mile fun-run for kids and a one-mile fitness walk for all ages. The 5K begins at 1:00 PM through the streets of Farmington.
