Storm Closes Key Farmington Road, Power Outages Low
Schools are also canceled in Farmington on Friday

FARMINGTON, CT — The heavy wind and rain storm is pounding Farmington Friday morning like it is with the rest of the state, with road closures and power outages reported.
According to the Farmington Police Department, Farmington Avenue (Route 4) is closed at the West Hartford town line for downed wires.
The closed portion is between Crescent Avenue and Cassandra Boulevard and motorists are asked to "seek alternate routes," the FPD said via Twitter at about 8:30 a.m. Friday.

As of 8:43 a.m., about 4.8 percent of Farmington was without power, totaling 620 customers, according to Eversource Energy.
Farmington Public Schools did close schools Friday morning, giving pupils an early start to their winter break.

The "snow day" program is open at Noah Wallace School from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., school officials said.
